I found this interesting thread on GR: PhoenixBlaze wrote: "Byers did have a funny quote for the night after that: "Colorado is filled with good players other than the ones wearing 21." Which would be Filipic. I don't think he's a fan."
bl8zrfan wrote: "There was more to this quote, he also said Frazier Filipic is on the borderline of USELESS and I agree 110%. He will attack like a rabid skunk on PMS after the fact. Honestly, he is an embarassment to their team and to hockey in general "
Fraser is borderline useless and an embarrassment to the team and hockey in general? I guess probably all teams would say that when he's kickin' their player's ass, huh?

Anybody would only say that when he attacks unprovoked for no reason, (like he has on several occasions) you won the game, what was the purpose? Why didn't he just go fist to fist? He may be the nicest guy off the ice but on the ice that is another story. They have suspended guys for less than that.
Wichita 03/15/09 DEL Guy, Devin (F) placed on league suspension for 1 game >>> he pulled his opponents hair. They deemed it "intent to injure" and you are saying that slashing across the face is not "intent to injure". YOU ARE KIDDING ME!
It was also mentioned somewhere that the video of the game was mysteriously blank, imagine that.

If you are gonna issue the first hit, you better expect some payback.

Oh yeah they are just taking it easy on Flip. pregnant dog please. How many times has Panks been suspended this year for cat fights such as the one Filipic was involved in? Two times in as many weeks if I'm not mistaken. Maybe the league is actually right for once and everyone is making way to big of a deal out of it. I was more interested in Penner anyway. It always makes me laugh when he ruffles up his feathers. Yeah so he has sleeves, he is taller than a large percentage of the league and he will punch whoever crashes his net, but when I see him do a lil' golf clap after a game with that premature comb-over of his, I tip my head back and laugh.

Penner couldn't fight because he has been shortlisted. If he fought, he would have gotten an automatic suspension. Plus, coach Mac waved him off when he wanted to go.

I myself really don't know why players fight about 25% if the time. Thats because I don't have a live feed listening to every player and what they say, but I can guess something was said or I missed an action. We are not on the ice, we hear stories, we don't like to see our guys get beat down, so some make up excuses for them, I wonder if the players do, I wouldn't. I know what I start. If people think Frasier is cheap, I disagree, and think they should take a broad look around the league. There is a few, but I think for the most part the shots like the one mentioned are retaliation. Its just like a wrote in another forum, when you are GREAT, people can hate you for it. I wear #21 at the games and have for ever!

Payback would be to act like a man and go fist to fist, not slash across the face. We see what's happening to the players we're focused on. I saw the unnecessary hit on Schneekloth and not the slash across the face. You saw the slash and not the hit. In reality, neither action should have happened.

Eagles23as that very well could have happened as I was watching the game via CHL-TV. I did see the mark on Passmore's forehead last night at the awards banquest. The complaint is the slash was not proper retaliation and some of our players have been given a 1-2 game suspension for lesser and then Filipic gets at the most according to Pointstreak 10 minutes for intent to injure which is definitely justified. I guess it all boils down to who the ref is because none of them are consistent from one game to the next.

Mr. Filipic served a one game suspension last night. There really is no "proper retaliation" from players. The Ref should have handled the hit on Schneekloth, that happened right in front of him, with a penalty. That's their job. Them doing their job would alleviate unnecessary injuries like Mr. Passmore's. I hope he heals quickly.

The ref handled the hit on Schneekloth, B.Passmore 2 Charging. I am comfortable now knowing they also took care of Filipic.
03/19/09 DEL Filipic, Fraser (RW) placed on league suspension for 1 games. 03/20/09 ADD Filipic, Fraser (RW) activated from suspension.

bl8zrfan... do you happen to recall a POS named Graham Dearle? You call Fraser useless? Wasn't Dearle sent out by Sauter to start a fight in that playoff series between OKC and the Eagles two years ago? To me that is basically a hitman or a thug. I think it's funny that you don't put Dearle in the same category as Filipic, but that's probably because he usually got his a$$ handed to him whenever he started sh!t with anyone. Fraser knocked him out... Tobes usually tossed him around, and a certain Chris Mann broke his jaw pretty easily! Graham Dearle retired because he was getting used and abused pretty regularly, and Sauter kept on sending him out like an attack chihuahua only to get his nose slapped by a newspaper time and time again. Take a good look in your own backyard before you get to slinging mud at a d**n good player.

BTW... I talked to Stewy on Thursday at the Rage game, and he laughed about the suspension. I agreed with him when he said if Fraser intended to hurt someone, then he would hurt them. There'd be no question about it.

I wasn't slinging mud, I was quoting another person. All I did was agree.
